Chooser Terms
Terms of use
For the Chooser! app on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Last updated 30 September 2026.
1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Bon App & T Ltd (“we”, “us”), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, the publisher of Chooser! (“Chooser” or “the app”). By downloading or using Chooser you accept them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
2. Who can use Chooser
You need to be at least 13 years old to use Chooser. If you’re under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian. Some card categories, such as Couples, Dating and Relationships, Night Out and Risky Texts, are written for adults: choose categories that suit everyone playing.
3. Playing fair and playing safe
- Chooser picks at random, for fun. Don’t rely on it for decisions with serious consequences.
- Truths and dares are suggestions. You decide what to do. Skip any card that could hurt someone, damage property, break the law or make anyone uncomfortable, and never pressure anyone into a dare.
- You’re responsible for what you do while playing. We aren’t responsible for anything that happens when you act on a card.
- Cheat Mode is a joke setting that always picks whoever touched first. Only use it where everyone would find that funny.
4. Online rooms, chat and videos
In online rooms, other players see your display name, colour, chat messages and any dare video you submit. When you play online, you agree not to:
- harass, bully, threaten or impersonate anyone, or share hateful, sexual or violent content;
- share anyone’s personal information, or film people without their permission;
- post anything unlawful, or anything you don’t have the right to share;
- interfere with the app, its servers or other players, for example by cheating, spamming or using automated tools.
You keep ownership of what you post, and you give us permission to host it and show it to the other players in your room while the room is open. We can remove content, close rooms or block access to online features if these terms are broken. To report a problem, email info@chooser-app.com.
5. AI players
AI players are computer-generated characters, not real people. Their answers and messages are written automatically and may be inaccurate, silly or out of place. Don’t rely on them, and don’t share personal information with them.
6. Cards you write
You keep ownership of the truths and dares you write with “Write your own”. You give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to store, review (including with AI tools), adapt and use them, or ideas from them, to create and improve Chooser’s cards. We won’t publish them under your name. Only write cards you have the right to share, and don’t include anyone’s personal details.
7. Purchases and subscriptions
- Chooser is free to download. Optional purchases unlock everything and remove ads. They can be weekly or yearly subscriptions, or a one-time lifetime purchase; what’s offered, and the prices, are shown in the app before you buy.
- Purchases are made through Apple and are subject to Apple’s terms. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You’ll be charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- If a free trial is offered, it turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, through reportaproblem.apple.com. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
- A lifetime purchase gives you access to the paid features for as long as we offer Chooser on the App Store.
8. Ads
The free version may show ads provided by Google AdMob. See the privacy policy for the choices you have.
9. Our app and content
Chooser, its cards, artwork, themes, icons, sounds and code belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple’s Usage Rules. Don’t copy, sell, redistribute or reverse-engineer the app or its content, except where the law allows it.
10. Changes to the app
We keep improving Chooser, so features, card categories and content change over time. Features that rely on our servers, such as online rooms, AI players and new cards, may be changed, paused or withdrawn.
11. Our responsibility to you
Chooser is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors.
We aren’t responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, or for business losses. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for Chooser in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else that can’t be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Chooser or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you can notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, and claims that the app infringes someone else’s intellectual property. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
13. Ending this agreement
You can stop using Chooser at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your access to online features if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We’ll post the new version here with a new date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app where we can. If you keep using Chooser after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring proceedings there. If you have a problem, please contact us first; we’ll try to sort it out.
